Being healthy: It's just common sense

Here are some good common sense tips to reduce stress. I call them common sense because they are hardly revolutionary. However, many people these days have gotten so tied up by the rat race and generally hectic lifestyles, that many of these things are lost on them. If only people (including myself) realized just how easy it is to be healthy. It's a lot more about common sense and a lot less about rocket science.

My favorite one of these tips is learning to live in the present. It's my favorite and yet the one I struggle most with. I often find myself worrying about what I have to do by the end of the week, next month, etc. It adds stress to my life that I don't need. I'm making a conscious effort to live with what experts call "mindfulness", or paying more attention to the here and now.

We all have room for improvement in terms of leading healthy lifestyles. We tend to be a nation of procrastinators, but health is not something we should be putting off. Unhealthy lifestyles are the main reason healthcare costs so much in this country!
